We were lucky enough to be able to spend the holidays with both the Schut and Underwood Families. We spent Christmas Eve with the Schuts. We acted out the nativity story complete with costumes. Then we were able to open a few gifts with that side of the family.
The best gift to be opened that night ( which I can't believe I didn't get a picture of) was a great big box from Grandma and Grandpa Schut. When this big box was opened out popped Mickey and Minnie Mouse balloons. Of course being only two, Isaac was more interested in playing with the balloons than figuring out what they actually mean. The Schut and Johnson families are celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Disneyland Trip by loading up parents, kids, spouses and grand kids ( totalling approximately 31 people) and heading back to California. We will be spending a week there including Disneyland, California Adventure and going to the beach. It should be a blast!!

Christmas Day 2010
We spent Christmas morning at our house. The whole family was quite spoiled. Isaac got mostly dress up clothes. His favorite by far was the policeman complete with belt, walkie talkie, and handcuffs.
Mom and Dad were pretty spoiled also, although less willing to pose for the camera before actually waking up and getting ready for the day. We had breakfast and got ready for the day. Then we went to the Underwood side of the family and spent the day there.
This Christmas was filled with the most important things. We were able to spend time with family and friends. We also had time to remember the real reason for the season.

Isaac Ice Skating
We went ice skating at the Olympic Speed Skating Oval on December 18th. We are a little nervous as we had tried skating before with Isaac and he only lasted about 20 minutes. This time we were able to get a " blue thing" ( as Isaac calls it). It is basically a walker that you push around on the ice to help you keep your balance and learn how to skate. Once he got going he was really excited.Marshal helped him for the first time around the oval, then after that he started insisting that he wanted to do it himself. He went around another three times by himself and if we tried to help him, he would insist that he wanted to do it himself. We could not believe that he got so good at skating so quickly.

Isaac's Antics
Marshal and I decided to get a jump on the holidays. Last year we did not get our tree up until just before Christmas. We decided to get the tree up early this year. Yesterday Isaac had a friend over to play. I heard them laughing hysterically in the living room, which is not unusual. They tend to just look at each other and laugh. I went into the living room a few minutes later to find shattered glass all over the carpet in the living room. Isaac's friend was handing him the ornaments and he was happily smacking him with his toy hammer. They had smashed about 15 of our ornaments in under 20 minutes. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves. We had to vacuum most of the pieces up, this is the biggest piece of any ornament that survived. Needless to say mommy was not happy.

Dancing Marshal
We recently went to the Desert Star to see Harry Podder. We got to sit on the second row on the end. Anyone who has been to Desert Star knows that those are the "Fun" seats. Draco Malcontent was plotting on the side stage and announced that he needed a distraction. He dragged Marshal and another man, who was sitting in front of us, up and told them to dance.
Then he told Marshal to take off of his cowboy hat and come with him. The actor playing Dunbledorph started yelling from his picture frame on the side stage to, " Give Brad Paisley back his hat." So they left the hat on and took him backstage.
In the next scene Marshal and the other participant were told to go and dance to create a distraction while Draco dumped potion into the punch.
After they were done dancing they got to spend the rest of the scene on stage. Marshal did a great job and really got into it. These pictures were taken from my cell phone, so the quality isn't the best, but you get the idea.
